2nd Trimester! 26 weeks to go!
![]() |
| 2nd Trimester. 14 Weeks. |
Size of baby: "Your baby is now weighs about an ounce and is the length of a flip phone, or roughly 3.5 inches—he's tripled in size from a mere three weeks ago!"
Maternity clothes: Have been for a while! Ready to find some new things at the JBF sale. Had to get rid of most of what I had because they wouldn't fit at all, and made me even more sick putting them on-I felt HUGE!!! Sale is next week so hoping to find some really good deals! Did find some simple maternity tank tops to run in which I was really excited about, hate running in tshirts as opposed to a workout top.
Gender: Still keeping it a surprise. Kenz has stated now that she does not want a little brother-that it must a be a little sister.
Movement: At night when I'm laying on my side, I've felt a few little bumps.
Sleep: It's coming easier.
Cravings: Finally getting used to just feeling normal. Which is nice. But I now don't want to eat anything-especially since last trimester was so weird.
How I'm feeling: Finally getting back some energy, and most of the nausea has gone away. So nice to just get back to feeling normal.
Highlight of the week: We've had a girls name picked out for a while that we like. And I think we are settling in on a boys name. Still not quite set on it. But we're getting used to it.

Kids Room
Finally finished!
My rush for getting it done so quickly (I mean, I am only 13 weeks pregnant, and we aren't moving Jacoby in until probably December sometime) was my studying! lol! I knew if I didn't have it done before we started "back to school" I would want to be playing with ideas and pinterest trying to figure out how to set up the room. Now it's done and I have no excuse but to study :) Well, at least I can't use that as an excuse!
This also gives Kenz plenty of time to really understand what's going to happen in a few months! Her room is about to be shared with her little brother-eek!! I'm hoping with all the "newness" it will help make it more bearable!

First Day of School
First day of school for us in the Jordan Household! Kenzie is starting a "at home prek" type thing. I've got lots of fun ideas for letters, numbers, themes, crafts-mostly thanks to pinterest! Also thanks to all the Circle resources I got while teaching the 3 yr old classroom at FBC. The girl is really smart! Can match up all the letters with their lowercase version, has numbers 1-10 down (in spanish as well) and is talking some math sentences out with me, "we have two plates out, we need one more for preslee, then we'll have three plates." She's doing really well with tracing letters in her book, excited to see her pick up writing more of them on her own. She does like writing her M right now. Kenz is also doing gymnastics, and starting AWANAS this year.
Wes started back to school today-one last really hard semester of undergrad work before he gets to apply for OT school. After all his shadowing, he has decided he likes OT much more than PA and probably wont even apply for PA school anymore, just OT.
I also started back today with my personal trainer certification studies-my goal is to take the test this coming December, so as soon as the kids go down for nap, I have my study stuff out and getting as much done as possible. Then at night it will be study sessions for me and wes! I've decided to join a MOPS group this year-give me a chance to get out during the day and the kids some more play time with others, I'm pretty excited about it. Oh yeah, and I'm still training for my half marathon coming up in November!!
Jacoby has Preslee back to play with this semester. Its amazing the difference a year can make, compared to when she started last year, and the two weren't even holding their own heads up or rolling over. Now they're running around, eating all kinds of snacks and telling me no! :)
And that's about it for us-great kids, crazy schedules, lots of studying, Wes still working nights at the hospital, half marathon, crazy busy life for us right now-but I love it!

1276.27 Miles
Yes. 1276.27 miles. That's how many I drove within 9 days.
First part of the trip was by myself. I am on the Alumni Council for Sigma Phi Lambda this year-very excited about it! And I got to attend the All Chapter Officer Retreat! Half the trip, I drove just enjoying the peace and quiet!! No radio, no phone, no kids in the backseat, was very very peaceful! The retreat was a lot of fun too-was ready to get home and see my family again though!!
So came back Sunday afternoon, then headed out again first thing Monday morning at 6 am. My first destination:
Roundrock, TX for duvet covers. The Ikea in Frisco said online (and on the phone when I spoke to someone) that they did not have the duvet covers I wanted for the kids new room. So headed to this Ikea first thing to make sure I got the covers. I did really good too! Told myself I wasnt going to do any other shopping, just go in, get covers, and leave. And I did exactly that! (Kids room by the way is looking really cute-I'm very happy with it! Only missing one more part-finishing up Jacoby's name-and then I'll be posting pictures.)
Next stop was my grandparents in Lakeway, TX. Also got to see my dad, AJ came by twice to see his niece and nephew, two uncles, an aunt, and cousins! Lots of family Kenz kept saying! Jacoby was being super cute and was playing with my granddad, it was so great to see-did I get any pictures of it, no. My phone was downstairs, and I just didn't think about getting it. Did get a video of Rachel playing with the kids the next day though:
Next stop was breakfast at Ihop in Temple, TX with Michelle and her daughter Maddie. It was really good to see them!! Not so great of service at that location though, poor Kenz never got her oatmeal and had to suffer with bits of my sausage and Jacoby's hashbrowns-she survived!
Then we went on to Whitney, TX to see Ludy and PaC. Did get some good pictures there:
From there we went on to Little Elm to see my mom. Got to finish up my shopping at Ikea. And guess who had stacks of my duvet covers in the store, even after checking just 2 days before. They told me they didn't have any in the store, the warehouse was empty, and they had no information on the item-whatever. They were, however, out of the comforter that I wanted, that the Roundrock location did have-that I purposely walked past so I wouldnt spend to much time in the store. Oh well. Pictures from Little Elm:
And, then it was on to Grand Prairie to see Uncle Jimmy, Papaw and Mamaw. Cousins Emily and Chole were there they whole time so Kenz got some good play time in! And she also got to play with the Jordan cousins too!!
It was a long trip, we missed Wes like crazy-but it was so good to see so much family! My children are so blessed to have such a big family!!

31, 30, and 29 weeks to go!
Have a few weeks to catch up on!
We missed being at home at 30 weeks to go thanks to our road trip, so we took it today when we cut the 29 week chain down.

| 31 weeks to go |

| 29 weeks to go |
I am really excited to see how this chain has worked out for Kenzie-she totally gets it!! Knows she has one chain to cut every week, and that it takes a whole week before she can cut another one. And that Baby Jordan wont be here til we get to the last chain. She gets it so much, that she got onto me tonight for cutting down two chains, telling me I had to wait and be patient, that we only cut down one chain at a time.
I'm of course already showing, pretty well, but I have to wait for Wes to take the picture for me from now on. There's just no good spot to set up the camera in the room, gets some really really bad angles on this prego lady!!

Are You Kidding Me????
So I've been looking and looking at kids room stuff, found one that I like (atleast the best) at ikea, and guess who isnt carrying it anymore-ikea! Warehouse is empty and the lady said there is no information on it at all, just a blank screen! Ugh! The frisco location is out of them completely, and the Round Rock one has 19 left. So I'm hoping that everyone in the round rock area does not decide to go get red twin duvet covers from ikea within the next week!

8 week update

| 32 weeks to go |
Size of baby: "Your baby is now a little more than ½ inch long, about the size of the rock in Nicole Richie's engagement ring, and is about as heavy as the check Joel Madden wrote to pay for it."
Maternity clothes: They are SO much more comfortable! Plus I feel gross right now, and I think wearing those helps, because maternity clothes are so obviously maternity clothes. So when I'm out in public, people don't have to wonder, geez, is that a huge tummy or is she pregnant. Or at least I feel a little better about wondering if that's what they're wondering. Still can fit into my smallest size jeans, but I really don't want to! I was so proud of getting into that size, and I feel so gross right now, I don't want to mix up the two-if that makes sense. So I think, probably this next week, I'll be putting up regular clothes and switching to mainly maternity. I didn't have that much regular summer clothes anyways because I hadn't been able to really shop for any new stuff in my new size!
Gender: Kenz is convinced it's a little girl. We're trying really hard, "could be little sister OR little brother." She says she already has a little brother, so this must be little sister.
Movement: None yet
Sleep: No sugar at night as helped. Now if only I could get my son to sleep in the mornings like he used to! I could get a good sleep again :)
Cravings: everything just makes me sick right now, doesn't really matter what kind of food, how much, how little, when I eat it, I just feel nauseated afterwards. And I don't ever feel full, so I always feel like I need to eat, but I always feel sick, blah! Not enjoying this part right now.
How I'm feeling: Not so hot, pretty nauseated.
Highlight of the week: Kenzie always coming up and giving BJ a hug and a kiss. We also got the kids new room painted, pretty happy with how the color turned out! And items are finally coming together in their room, I think it will look pretty cute all put together! Ready for my shopping to trip to get the rest of everything, that's not til next week though!

|
Have a lot to do on their room still, but it's a start! We have a garage sale this weekend-will be trying to sell off Makenzie's current bedding (which I actually like a little more since the walls have been painted! It was just too pink in there!) Have a BIG list of stuff to get at ikea! Finally found a bat for Jacoby's name, excited to get those pictures up-have to wait until midway through aug to get the bat though, so it's gonna be a while before his name gets put up...patience...patience...patience...Let's see, window valance, hooks on either side, painting the knobs on that dresser, new pictures in frames, collecting misc. baseball/ladybug items. Wes has picked out a SUPER cute ty ladybug for kenz to have, and I still need to do fleece blankets for them too. Waiting for my trip I'm taking in a few weeks to get just about everything else, because of course, San Angelo has nothing!

Painting Catastrophe
Well, maybe not catastrophe, but frustration at least. I picked out a yellow for the kids room, and we've had it bought for a while. Picked this weekend as the painting weekend! So, I started the painting Friday evening while Wes was still at work, thought I could get all the trim work done, and then he could help me with the rolling part, just be done in no time. Except, big problem-I hate the yellow!! The super soft sweet yellow color that I had picked out looked like highlighter on the wall.
So, sat Wes came home, took a look at it, and shook his head. lol. So while we were out shopping, we grabbed a quart of white paint, and just decided we would lighten it ourselves. Result was not to bad, kind of a pretty yellow-BUT if there's one lesson I've learned, it's don't buy cheap paint! And I had. And it did not cover the walls at all-WE RAN OUT OF PAINT. Sigh. So, today its off to the paint store to but some good paint, in a better yellow (I'm really looking for such a soft yellow that you hardly even notice it's yellow) The room is going to be pretty bold with the red, black, and white baseball/ladybug design, so I dont want the walls to loud. And the yellow we came up with on our own, its a much softer yellow, like I was wanting, but is still to bright. So we decided just to call that a good primer coat, which we probably would have had to do anyways to cover up that pink that Kenzie had.
Good news for the day:
YES WE DID! Christmas ornaments in July baby!! They are still sitting on my table at home, can't quite put them up yet!
The baby countdown chain seems to be working so far for Kenz. She's talked a lot about how she gets to cut another chain down, and by the time we're done, Christmas and Baby Jordan will be here. She's so cute.

7 week update
Size of baby: length of a Tic Tac and about as heavy as an eyelash
Total weight gain/loss: +3
Maternity clothes: I bought some the other day from a posting I found on facebook. Tried on some capris the next day, can't lie-they were way more comfortable than my regular jeans. Lacey also returned all my maternity clothes to me today, and passed on hers. So when they are ready, so am I. I am currently wearing my smallest size jeans today and have them buttoned, just fine! That's exciting!! I think I swelled pretty bad right at first, but that seems to maybe even be going down a bit, hoping my energy picks back up REALLY fast though-got a half marathon in 16 weeks!
Gender: We won't find out. Talked about it, but I love the surprise and really don't want it any other way! Main reason we were deliberating over it, for Kenzie's sake, and for figuring out bedroom situation. But we have decided to just put Kenzie and Jacoby in the same room for a while and keep nursery a nursery.
Movement: None yet
Sleep: Pretty restless, figured out though that sugar REALLY affects me this time around. Any and I'm pretty jittery, so no sweet for me at night. Figured that out after about a week of staring at the ceiling until midnight or 1am. The decaf coffee with no calorie sweetener was doing it to me!
What I miss: decaf coffee in the evening, or a cookie, maybe some ice cream :)
Cravings: no specifics, I just want to eat, and thats annoying to me!! Lol
How I'm feeling: Pretty good, some pretty sore back pain last week, but had test done for infections, everything came back good, and nurse said just pregnancy symptoms. Did not like the smell of cooking meat-that did not go over well at all!
Highlight of the week: Kenzie wanting to tell Baby Jordan (BJ) good night and gave BJ a hug last night. Also announcing! Got to post the pictures of the new shirts! Kenz also told her friend Lauren today that's she's going to be a big sister again. I think it stuck out to me, because we hadn't been talking about it at all. She said it on her own without any coaxing! Let's see, also made Kenz's countdown chain and hung it in baby room. Going to start taking pictures with her weekly as she cuts down another chain and writes number down. Hopefully it will help her realize, its going to be a while, but we are getting closer and closer each week!
